It's pretty simple. You're going to get your dog to move and when they do say "yes" or click your clicker and immediately pay them their food reward. If your dog is already familiar with sit and come you can use those commands. Tell Fido to sit and when their butt sits on the floor immediately say yes and invite them out of the sit and give them the food. Same thing with the recall. Tell Fido to come and as soon as they take the first step towards you say "yes" or immediately click your clicker and pay them when they get to you. Do this exercise between 10-20 times or until you can see your dog understands the association between the word yes/click predicting the food reward coming. Last but not least, the click and the yes ALWAYS predict food reward. So do not click or say yes if you aren't going to pay your dog. It's like saying "I promise to pay," and we don't want to break our word and then the word and the click loses its efficacy. Also, once you say yes or click, the exercise is over and your dog IS allowed to break the position.
