Ecollar training intro

Why use the ecollar: after we've made certain that we and our dog are fluent in the language of leash pressure it's time to start introducing the ecollar. I teach the dog that the sensation (stimulation) that comes from the ecollar means EXACTLY the same thing as the leash, they just feel different. If our aim is to get our dogs' obedience bulletproof and we want to get them to the place where we can trust them off leash and keep them safe no matter what, the ecollar is the next step in the training process. You MUST make sure your dog already understands: recall (coming when called), sit, down, place, leave it, and has a loose leash walk down BEFORE moving to phase 1 of ecollar conditioning. Why? Because if we've done our work, our dogs understand that the leash tells them which direction and position to get into. The ecollar can only prompt them. Hence why we need a solid foundation with the language of leash pressure first before moving on to the ecollar. If you've done that then let's jump into the next video where I'll be talking you through the process step by step.
